Kandy Vs CR & FC
The mighty Kandy Sports Club won the Caltex ‘A’ Division League Rugby Tournament for the record ninth successive year yesterday @ Longdon Place when they beat CR & FC 13-11.
Dinesh Kumar opened the scoring when CR counter attacked on a Kandy move in the first half. Sheriff’s penalty kick made them lead at Lemon’s 8 to nothing.
However Kandy came back strong in the second half like they always do with Saliya Kumara’s 25m penalty kick and Sheriff also extended the gap with another awesome 40m kick. It was try time when Radhike Hettiarachchi managed to score through the CR defense line which followed with a perfect conversion by Saliya Kumara. Saliya then again managed to take Kandy into the lead by putting over another penalty and the final score waz 13-11.
Kandy has proved that they’re the champz fa da ninth consecutive year and CR would be hoping to have a go at ‘em @ Cliffords..
